Spice Covered Cherry Tomatoes

At this time of year when the tomato plants are producing beautiful cherry tomatoes, this tasty Spice Covered Cherry Tomato recipe takes about 2 minutes to make, and yet serves as a cool appetizer for people to eat.

The Beau Monde seasoning that I used was from the grocery store and I was able to find the brand Spice Island. Many of the smaller stores will not carry it, but try the bigger ones. I had never used Beau Monde before, and it is just a combination of salt, onion and celery seed.

It literally is this easy, place the four ingredients into a bag and shake to mix thoroughly. Wet tomatoes and throw in the bag with the spices. Shake to coat the tomatoes and then remove and serve.  You can see that the whole tomato is not covered with the spices, but there is enough to give it the taste it needs.

It just so happened that the day I wanted to make these spice covered tomatoes, there were no red cherry tomatoes available but there were the yellow ones ready to pick from the garden, so that is what we used.


1 tsp dill weed

1 tsp Lawry’s Seasoning

1 tsp Beau Monde

½ tsp garlic salt

1 pint of cherry tomatoes
